On 26 November 2025, the Sustainability Science Forum took place in Bern, bringing together actors from academia, policy, and practice to explore pathways toward a socially just and climate-neutral future.
The University of Basel co-organised the forum. A highlight was the presentation by Dr Janina Grabs (University of Basel, Sustainable Future Research Network) on justice in the coffee trade, providing important insights into the links between global supply chains and sustainable development.
With the Bern University of Applied Sciences as host and a broad alliance of participating institutions, the forum underlined that a sustainable and just transition requires collaboration and dialogue across research, policy, and society.
