Are religions becoming green? ARG project conclusion

On the 15th of January 2024 there will be a workshop followed by an Apero presenting results on the "Are Religions Becoming Green?" project; together with presentations from guest speakers that have examined different aspects of the greening of religion in a Swiss context.

The "Are religions becoming green?" project has attempted to determine (a) the extent to which local religious communities ("congregations") in Switzerland are environmentally engaged, (b) what types of environmental engagement they engage in and (c) what factors influence their environmental engagement. To this end, the research team surveyed Swiss religious communities. The project will make a key contribution to the growing international debates on religious environmental engagement by explaining which factors promote (or block) religious environmental engagement. 

This workshop will present the results of the research project. There will also be presentations by guest speakers who have studied the various aspects of the greening of religion in the Swiss context. 

The afternoon will conclude with an aperitif.
